Dhikr Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 2, 2026

Dhikr (“we,” “us”) respects your privacy. This policy describes what information the app uses, how it is used, and your choices.

Short version

Dhikr has no accounts, no sign-in, and no servers of our own. Your dhikr practice stays on your iPhone. We do not see your counts, goals, profile, or custom dhikr. We use anonymous product analytics to improve the app. If you subscribe to Pro, Apple processes the payment and RevenueCat checks whether the subscription is active.

Information stored on your device

The app stores the following on your device only (using Apple’s on-device storage, including SwiftData, UserDefaults, and an App Group shared with the optional Home Screen widgets):

  • Dhikr counts, daily history, daily goals, and streak information

  • Profile name and avatar choice

  • Which dhikr appear on Home, Home length, and any custom dhikr you create

  • Preferences such as theme, haptics, and reminder settings

Reminders use Apple’s local notifications. Reminder times are stored on the device and are not sent to us.

Widgets read a local snapshot through the App Group group.com.yoosman1.supplicate. That data does not leave the device except as part of an iCloud or computer backup you control.

We do not use this practice data for advertising, analytics profiles, or tracking across apps or websites.

Information we receive

Practice data: We receive none of it. There is no account and no upload of counts, goals, or profile to us.

Dhikr Pro (optional): If you buy or restore a subscription:

  • Payment is processed by Apple. We do not receive your name, email, payment card, or Apple ID password.

  • We use RevenueCat to confirm whether your Pro entitlement is active. RevenueCat may process purchase receipts, an anonymous app user identifier, subscription status, and limited device/app information needed to validate the purchase. That processing is for app functionality (unlocking Pro), not for tracking.

  • RevenueCat’s privacy policy: https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy

  • Apple’s privacy policy: https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your data for third-party advertising.

Apple diagnostics (optional, system-level): If you have chosen to share with Apple, Apple may provide us aggregate or anonymized crash and App Store analytics. Those reports are not used to identify you and are not linked by us to your dhikr practice.

Product analytics (PostHog)

To understand how the app is used and improve it, we send anonymous product analytics events to PostHog, a third-party analytics service. This is not linked to your identity and is not used for advertising or cross-app tracking. We do not send your dhikr text, counts, goals, profile name, or custom dhikr content.

Events may include: onboarding steps viewed or skipped, paywall shown or dismissed (including what triggered it), first home-screen count, subscription purchase or restore completed, and app opened. PostHog may also receive standard technical metadata such as app version, device type, and operating system version.

Third parties

Third parties involved in operating the app are PostHog (anonymous product analytics), Apple (payments and optional diagnostics) and RevenueCat (subscription validation), as described above. They are required to protect user data at a level consistent with this policy and with Apple’s App Store Review Guidelines. We do not share your on-device practice data with them.

Retention and deletion

  • On-device data remains until you reset progress, change settings, or delete the app.

  • Settings → Progress resets dhikr counts. Profile and goals are not removed by that action.

  • Deleting the app removes its data from that device. We have no copy to restore.

  • If you use iCloud Backup or a computer backup, iOS may include Dhikr’s local data in that backup. Those backups belong to you and Apple; we cannot access them.

  • A Pro subscription is billed and managed by Apple. Cancel or manage it in iOS Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions. Deleting the app does not automatically cancel a subscription.

  • Because we do not host an account or a copy of your practice data, there is no server-side profile for us to delete. For Pro purchase records held by Apple or RevenueCat, use Apple subscription settings and, if needed, the contact below.

  • Analytics events are retained by PostHog according to their policies. They contain no dhikr practice content.

Your choices

  • Turn reminders off in the app or in iOS Settings → Notifications.

  • Reset counts in Settings → Progress.

  • Delete the app to remove local data from the device.

  • Manage or cancel Pro in App Store / Apple ID subscription settings.

  • Restore purchases from the Pro screen if you reinstall.

The app does not request access to Contacts, Photos, Camera, Microphone, or Location.

Children’s privacy

Dhikr is not directed at children under 13. Do not use the app if you are under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Because we do not operate accounts, we do not have a database of child users to delete; uninstalling the app removes local data from that device.

Changes

We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date will change when we do. Continued use of the app after an update means you accept the revised policy. Material changes will be reflected at this same URL.
